Rock Star!

More Pictures...

Again, do I have the best babysitters or WHAT?!?!?

This picture is of the boys during their nap at the babysitter's house:

Here is one of the boys with their good friend, Jake, at the sitter's. Those are the tractors that they all got for Christmas.

Reindeer Boys!

I think it's safe to say that the boys have the very best babysitters EVER. They love to go to Ms. Terra's house in the morning and see Ms. Terra and Ms. Laura, or Miss Tee-uh and Miss Ya-ya as Grey calls them. Here is a picture from today:

Not much going on around here...

Well, we haven't been doing too much since the last time that I posted. Sadly, we missed the icy/snowy/sleety weather this week, and I didn't get to miss a day of school. RATS! For some random reason, we were dismissed early from school yesterday - at 1:45. It wasn't sleeting or snowing, but we were sent home. Hmmm...strange to me, but I will take early-out days however I can get them!

Grey and Cole are good right now.

Cole is cutting more teeth, and we sure will be glad when he finally gets all his chompers!

Grey is still nurturing his Chah-dee Bown (Charlie Brown) addiction by watching the Christmas specials each time that they come on television. :o) It's pretty funny to watch him run in circles in his imitation of the way that Charlie Brown and the other Peanuts characters dance.

Cole...or Bamm-Bamm

Cole is loud...very loud...and he likes to throw things. I take that back. He LOVES to throw things. Last night, he threw my cell phone, some of his supper, his sippy cup, trains, a tractor, and everything else that he could get his hands on. This morning, he threw a present from underneath the Christmas tree (an unbreakable one). It would be dangerous, except that his aim is not that accurate yet. Thank goodness for that... Otherwise, he'd be running wild around the house while Jay, Grey, and I lie on the floor, knocked out from being beaned with something dangerous.

Grey's Performance

That is Grey dramatically singing the theme song to "Elmo's World." It goes like this:
La, la, la, la
La, la, la, la
Elmo's World...

Grey sing-screams that over and over and over and over...

The Greatest Show on Earth!

Last weekend was really exciting for all of us! We went to Little Rock to spend Friday night and see the CIRCUS on Saturday. Jay, the boys, and I left right after I got out of school on Friday afternoon. We went straight to Toys R Us in North Little Rock. While we were there, Jay put many quarters into the little rides at the front of the store so that the boys would be occupied while I did some shopping. The boys LOVE riding those little rides.
After we left TRU, we met Dan and Jessica for supper at Carino's. It was SO NICE to have dinner with them. Jay and I really enjoyed it because we don't all get together often. Grey and Cole had a good time as well. (Jessica - we are sorry that Cole wiped ketchup all down the side of Dan's arm!) Grey insisted that we all wear the bread baskets that were on the table as hats. Dan didn't comply quickly enough, and Grey sharply said, "Put your hat on!" Lots of fun...

We eventually made it to our hotel room. Oh, the hotel room... It was interesting. We stayed in a dirty room at a Holiday Inn. We always stay at Holiday Inns because Jay thinks that we will accumulate enough Priority Club points to stay for free sometime... Anyway, that particular Holiday Inn was gross. The sofa bed didn't have clean sheets, so we had to call the front desk twice to request sheets. While all this is taking place, the boys discovered that the room had an "elevator." Okay, really, it didn't have an elevator...but they pretended that the sliding doors on the closet were their elevator doors. They wanted us all to get in the elevator, and Jay and I obliged them a time or two. That was the highlight of the stay for Grey and Cole---sliding closet doors. Goofy boys... Poor Cole ran right into one of the mirrored doors when he thought it was open. He's such a graceful child. ;o) They both also enjoyed sitting in the rolling desk chair with Jay while he rolled around the room. Cheap, fun entertainment...

We made it to the pre-show for the circus at ten o'clock Saturday morning. We were able to walk up to the circus ring and watch different acts. The boys weren't too enthused about that part, but I really thought it was cool. We bought the obligatory light-up souvenirs and programs while we were there as well as a $9 snow-cone in a clown cup. The four of us really enjoyed the circus. Cole did, however, fall asleep right before we left.

After the circus, we ate lunch and shopped a little before we headed home. The boys were pooped. Here they are on the ride home:

Grey's Outfit

Grey likes to wear his boots...and his tow-bee hat (tow-bee = cowboy). He thinks that is what you wear when you ride tows (cows) or four-wheelers. Never mind that we were going to the babysitter's house...he insisted on wearing those boots and that hat. He also wore his black boots when he went to get his hair cut yesterday afternoon. He really thinks he is hot stuff when he wears those boots!

A Monday morning, for sure...

This morning was a doozy, to say the very least. I was running late and was trying to herd the boys out the door to go to the sitter's. Cole was screeching, " 'and! 'and! 'and!" * Grey determinedly brought his pillow AND his blanket to the door and needed my help in carrying them. I was already frazzled, so I grabbed Cole's hand to begin the descent down the steps. Grey was behind us, so I held Cole's hand until he reached the bottom. I let go for a few seconds to continue to hold the door open for Grey. In the meantime, Cole takes off at a dead sprint, giggling and yelling because he knows that I am going to have to chase him before I put him in the car. As I tried to grab him quickly, he tripped and fell face-first into the big pile of leaves in the flower bed. Did I mention that it was POURING RAIN at that time? Oh yes, Cole was soaked and as happy as a little clam. He said, "Bah-ber! Bah-ber!" (Cole-speak for water) Grey looked on in dismay, "Oh, yook, Momma...Brubber's a MESS! Uh oh..." And all of that happened in approximately 30 seconds... Fun times at the Westbrook house... Fun times...

*Cole's new thing to do when we are leaving the house is to shriek, " 'and! 'and!" He wants to hold hands with someone so that he can walk down the steps in the carport.

Sharing...or not

Oh, dear...

Well, it's over. Putting things along the back of the sofa to keep him from getting them... Letting Grey play with trains on the windowsill so that they would not get derailed... Knowing that he would be safe on the ground when I left the room... All those things have come to an end. Cole can easily climb onto all the furniture now, and life will never be the same! I would not mind if he would climb onto the sofa and sit down, but that is not what he does. He would rather climb up, get to the edge of the seat, and then jump up and down. I think it might be time to get a helmet for him... :o)

The Yi-yon Moobie

As some of you know, Grey has become quite interested in what he calls, "the yi-yon moobie." Translated for those not fluent in Greyspeak, that is "lion movie." The lion movie is referred to by most people as "The Wizard of Oz." This movie was on TBS this past weekend several times. We watched it each time. Grey was very interested in the Cowardly Lion (yi-yon) and the Wicked Witch. The first time that we watched it, we missed the whole scene where Dorothy and her home were blown to Munchkinland.
When Grey finally did see that scene, he reacted like this:
"Whoa!"
"Hang on, Durty!" (Durty = Dorothy)
"WHOA, HOUSE!"
"Yook! The WITCH!" (when the witch pedaled/flew past the bedroom window)
"Uh oh...the bed is bwoten." (bwoten=broken)

Cole watched Oz as well. He liked Toto. Each time that Toto was offscreen, Cole would hold up his hands and ask, "Dog? Dog?"

It is so much fun to watch them while they watch a movie.

Giving it a try...

I am not sure how good I'll be at this, but I am going to try this whole blogging thing... I will try to find some good pictures and update in the next few days. I am in the "novice blogger" phase right now and am still learning the ropes of this site. Please be patient, and I will try to provide some entertaining posts and pictures for everyone!
